Safe Travels - Bosnia and Herzegovina

Upon arrival at the Sarajevo airport, there will be a gathering individually or the group, a short acquaintance, and departure to Herzegovina towards the chosen Hotel in Mostar. The check-in is followed by a brief community, getting to know the program, and an evening tour of the old town of Mostar.

We start the morning by leaving the Hotel towards the Vjetrenica cave, a 1.5-hour drive away. This Cave was first mentioned in the middle of the 1st century AD in work “History of Nature,” published by Pliny the Elder in 77.

Vjetrenica is a world-famous cave with rich cave decorations and rich cave world, in which almost 200 different animal species have been recorded, of which 92 are troglobites, making it the first in the world in biodiversity, and 37 of them were first found and described here (locus typicus). In the fauna of Vjetrenica, there is a large number of narrow endemics, the so-called stanoendema. The indoor air temperature is 11.4 ° C, and the water temperature is 11.3 ° C.

Počitelj - is a historical settlement of Oriental-Mediterranean character and an open-air museum in located in the Neretva river valley and one of the most beautiful cultural and historical units in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Počitelj is a fortress dating back to the Middle Ages. Počitelj is first mentioned in the charter for Duke Stjepan Vukčić in 1444 (Posichell, Vdobranah castello con lo contato).
In 2007, Počitelj's candidacy for the UNESCO World Heritage Site was submitted.
